- Cinnamon Leaf, Sri Lanka: Oil from the leaf is relatively skin friendly. Use with caution in a massage blend. Stimulates circulatory, cardiac and respiratory systems. Strong anti-bacterial, anti-viral, antispetic properties.
- Cistus, Spain: Stimulates the senses, elevates emotions, treats chronic slow-healing skin disorders, rashes, eczema and psoriasis. To make a wonderful treatment for fine lines and wrinkles, combine 4 drops of Cistus with 1 tsp Rosehip Seed oil.
- Clary Sage, Russia: Warming. Anti-depressant. Aphrodisiac. Creates euphoria in some, relaxation in others. Opens the mind, stimulates creativity. Use in a diffuser or bath. Calms underlying tensions to relieve headache and stress-related sexual dysfunction. Hot compress on stomach eases digestive problems. Useful in reducing symptoms of menopause.
- Clove Bud, Indonesia: Good for sore muscles and joints when well-diluted in a carrier oil. Excellent insect repellant. Great toothache remedy. Stimulates the mind and memory, has profound aphrodisiac effect on some.
- Combaba, Madagascar: Aids circulation, said to help gallbladder, liver and bladder blockage when used in massage. May assist ovarian and testicular insufficiencies. Sexual stimulant.
- Coriander, Romania: As an inhalative, it stimulates creativity and memory, helps overcome fatigue and irritability. For migrains, dilute 1:5 in a carrier oil and massage onto temples.
- Cornmint, India: This is an extremely potent variety of peppermint that is 74% menthol compared to the 43% menthol found in most peppermint oils. Used cornmint as you would Peppermint but with greater caution and in smaller quantities.
- Cypress, France: Astringent. Bracing. Acts as a vasoconstrictor and can be a useful additive to a massage oil or cream (along with Lemon Oil and Wheatgerm Oil) that is gently stroked upwards over varicose veins. Reported to help regulate mestrual cycles by increasing estrogen secretions.
- Davana, India: Potent floral aroma adds extraordinary fragrance to perfumes, massage oils and blends. Widely revered for spiritual, meditative and aphrodisiac properties.
- Elemi, Phillippines: Often called the "poor man's frankincense" Elemi, with its faint lemon scent, is used for rejuvenating wrinkled skin. Use as a cool compress to reduce facial stress lines. Mix with Jojoba or cream to help skin look youthful. Mixed equally with Spearmint and diffused, it helps clear stale air from the room, relieve dry coughs and congestion.
